How we handle your data
Written in plain language, because a notice nobody can read protects nobody. It covers the enquiry form, the reviews and what our host records when you visit.
Who is responsible for your data
Fuurka, Andermatt, Uri, Switzerland, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. For anything to do with your data, write to hugo@fuurka.com and we will answer you ourselves.
What we collect, and when
We only collect what you type in yourself, plus the basic technical records every website keeps.
When you send an enquiry: your name, your email address, the tour you are asking about and whatever you write about your riding.
When you leave a review: your name, your email address, the tour and the month you rode, your rating, your review and any photographs you attach.
When you simply visit: our host, Netlify, records the usual server information, including your IP address, the time of the visit and the page you asked for. That record exists to keep the site running and protect it from attacks.
This site sets no cookies of its own. We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
Why we use it, and on what basis
To answer you. We use your enquiry to reply and to discuss a possible booking, which is the step before a contract.
To publish your review. A review and its photographs go on the site only after you have ticked the box giving us permission. You may take that permission back at any time and we will remove the review.
To keep the site working. Server records and spam protection rest on our legitimate interest in a site that stays available and free of abuse.
We never sell your data, and we never use it to send marketing you have not asked for.
Who else sees it
Netlify hosts the site and receives the forms. Netlify is an American company and your data may be stored outside Switzerland and the European Union, under the standard contractual clauses that European law provides for such transfers.
Google Fonts. The two typefaces of the site are loaded from Google's servers, so your IP address reaches Google when a page opens. The fonts can be moved onto our own server, which removes that transfer, and we intend to do so.
Our email provider receives the messages we exchange with you.
Nobody else. We share nothing with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our mailbox for two years after the last message, so that we can pick up a conversation where it stopped. Published reviews stay until you ask us to remove them. The server records that Netlify keeps are deleted on its own schedule, which is a matter of days.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to our using it, or take back a permission you have given. Write to hugo@fuurka.com and we will reply within thirty days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or, if you live in the European Union, to the data protection authority of your own country.
Children
This site is meant for adults booking a cycling holiday. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under sixteen.
Changes to this notice
If the way we handle data changes, this page changes with it, and the date below changes too.
